He was responsible for re-writing the syllabuses for the Foundation Musical Theatre course at Arts Ed London and the Level 6 Trinity Diploma (Acting Department) at CPA Studios where he has also spent the last four years working as an Artistic Consultant and heading the Acting Department.
She has also worked at Middlesex University where she ran the module Singer As Entertainer, as well as writing a Musical Theatre module for the then Performing Arts degree.
In FE Annemarie worked at the Hertford Regional College helping them to make the transition from A Level to BTEC and contributing to the creation of the course.
Having MD’ed The MTA’s revival of Around the World in 80 Days in June, she is now recording backing tracks and supervising the Brewhouse Theatre Taunton’s production of the show this Christmas.
In addition to that she is writing The MTA’s pantomime, whilst working on the R&D of a couple of new shows with Nick Stimson.
As a vocal/audition coach she has worked with performers such as Ria Jones, Diane Langton, Bill Ward, Patti Boulaye, Beverley Rudd, Howard Samuels to name but a few.
As a lecturer Annemarie spent 18 years at the Hertfordshire Theatre School writing and running the Musical Theatre component of the course.Other MD/arrranging credits include: UK No 1 tours of Annie, Totally Frocked Up, Stage Stars and Spirit of the Musicals, the Irish premiere of Rent(for which she was the first person outside of Broadway to collaborate with the Larson estate to produce new arrangements); Martin Charnin’s 9 And a Half Quid Revue at the King’s Head; the UK premieres of Victor/Victoria, The Ultimate Man and Reefer Madness all at the Bridewell: the UK premiere of Naked Boys Singing at Madame Jo Jos: Pendragon for the NYMT on tour in Japan, Funeral Games, Dick Daredevil, South Pacific and Kiss and Tell all at the Drill Hall, London, the latter of which she also wrote the songs.She has worked regularly with Perfect Pitch notably MD’ing’ From Up Here in its West End Showcase.Along with H&W consultant Angie Peake, Annemarie has been a driving force in getting the #time4change Mental Health Charter out into the industry.Full details can be found at Whilst examples of her work can be found here: Alan trained at the Guildford School of Acting and graduated with a First Class BA(Hons) in Musical Theatre Performance and the Principal’s Award 2000.She now writes a regular blog about life as a working musician/Principal.
